CONNECTING NORDIC EXCELLENCE
On September 22nd, the international screen community will gather at Finlandia Hall in Helsinki, Finland, for the inaugural Freyas, a new annual celebration of excellence in Nordic film and television.
For decades, Nordic artists and stories have shaped contemporary cinema and television globally. Directors, actors, writers, cinematographers, composers, producers and craftspeople from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland have become integral to many of the world’s most acclaimed productions.
WITH THE GLOBAL STAGE
The Freyas have been created to celebrate that remarkable creative legacy while looking firmly toward the future. The inaugural event will take place in Helsinki in 2026, followed by Copenhagen in 2027, with The Freyas hosted annually in one of the Nordic capitals.
The Freyas are intended to become the yearly meeting place for the audiovisual industry and its international partners.
The evening will bring together celebrated artists, emerging talent, global studios, streaming platforms, agencies, producers, financiers and creative leaders who share a belief in ambitious storytelling and world-class craftsmanship.
The Freyas are designed to foster new relationships, inspire future partnerships, and honor the artists whose work continues to captivate audiences around the world.
The Freyas: Helsinki edition will celebrate outstanding achievements across film and television in many different honorary categories in Nordic projects and international collaboration.
